Rob Nelson has a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Physical Education from the University of South Florida and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the NOVA Southeastern University. He began his teaching career in middle school as a physical education teacher at Pierce Middle School. During that time he began coaching girls soccer at H.B. Plant High and his team made the state playoffs 7 straight years. He was named coach of the year four times. In 2003, Rob became Assistant Principal for Student Affairs at Plant. After 2.5 years in that position he was promoted to Assistant Principal for Curriculum. He was appointed principal at Plant High School in 2007. Rob is married and he and his wife have four young children.

Gina Piloto is a Tampa native. She received her B.S. degree in Science and Health Education and Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida. Ms. Piloto began her teaching career 20 years ago as a Life Science teacher at Sligh Jr. High School. She also taught at Horace Mann Middle School where she was promoted to Human Relations Specialist. She became a Plant Panther in 2001 where she has served in Human Relations and as an Assistant Principal for Student Affairs. In May of 2007 she was promoted to Assistant Principal for Curriculum. Ms. Piloto is passionate about education and was recognized as Teacher of the Year in 1991.
She enjoys reading, running and spending time with her family.

Laura Figueredo was born and raised in Tampa and is a graduate of H. B. Plant High. Ms. Figueredo began her teaching career at Madison Middle School before transferring to Plant as a physical education teacher. While in the P.E. Department she coached softball and volleyball. She has been the APA at Plant since 1995. Ms. Figueredo has an undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida and has her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Kimi Hellenberg has a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education K-12 from the University of Indianapolis and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She began her career in Brooksville, Florida and taught Physical Education at all three levels over nine years before entering the School District of Hillsborough County. Ms. Hellenberg started at Sligh Middle School, where she was a Team Leader and taught Physical Education. Once at Plant, she served as the Department Chair, taught a variety of Physical Education classes, and coached volleyball. For three years, she led her team to three state championships and was named coach of the year. She enjoys working with the students, parents, and staff of H.B. Plant High School.

Jaimye Platt

A native of Pennsylvania, Jaimye Platt earned her Bachelor's Degree in Secondary English Education at The Pennsylvania State University and her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from The University of South Florida. She began her career teaching 6th grade Language Arts in Lakeland, Florida before entering Hillsborough County. Mrs. Platt taught English and Journalism at Sickles High School, was the 9th grade Team Leader, and Newspaper Advisor before working as an Administrative Resource Teacher in Student Affairs. She is excited about working with the students and teachers at Plant High School and is looking forward to a great year.

Mr. Thompson has been an educator for sixteen years in the state of Florida. He was raised in South Florida, and attended the University of Florida earning his Bachelors of Arts in English. His post-graduate work was completed at Florida A & M University. Mr. Thompson has been a resident of Hillsborough County for the last nine years and is married with two children.
